💡 To record audio using headphones, download the Mac app. If you'd like to record audio using headphones on Windows or mobile, vote for the feature here.

If you're having issues transcribing in Limitless, follow the below steps:

  1. If you're currently recording, click on "Stop" and click "Record" again.

  2. Restart the Mac/Windows app, or if you're in the web app, refresh the page.

  3. With the Limitless app open, right-click and click "Reload"

  4. From your Mac/Windows settings, reset your Microphone permissions:

  5. With the Limitless Mac app open, click on "About Limitless". If you see that you're NOT on Version 1.1623.1 or later, you will need to manually re-install (replace) the app:
    ​https://download.limitless.ai/Limitless.dmg

  6. In the Limitless web and Windows app, click on your microphone and make sure it matches your device's microphone settings.

    1. For Mac users: please note that you will not see a drop-down to choose your microphone. We'll automatically use the input/output that your Mac is set to.

    2. If you're using your Mac in clamshell mode (working with the lid closed and connected to an external monitor), make sure to select an external microphone directly from your Mac settings.
