In the Mac app, you will need to enable both Microphone and Screen Recording & System Audio Permissions.
Microphone Permission
You will need to enable your microphone in order to record and transcribe. When you start a recording, Limitless will use your microphone to record and transcribe your side of the conversation.
You will be prompted directly in the Mac app. If you do not get prompted, go to your Mac System Settings > Privacy & Security > Privacy > Microphone and make sure to toggle on Limitless to access your microphone.
Screen Recording & System Audio Permission
Screen recording permission is essential for recording and transcribing audio in the Mac app. Although we do not capture anything on your screen, this allows Limitless to capture everything that comes out of your speakers or headphones.
You will be prompted directly in the Mac app. If you do not get prompted, go to your Mac System Settings > Privacy & Security > Privacy > Screen Recording & System Audio and make sure to toggle on Limitless.
Note: the permission will appear as "Screen Recording" (macOS Ventura 13), "Screen Recording & System Audio Permission" (macOS Sonoma 14) or "System Audio Recording Only" (macOS Sonoma 14.3+).
