We only support headphones in the Mac app!

Web & Windows:

You have the option to click on the microphone icon to change your default microphone (USB mic for example). Please note, if you're wearing headphones (wired or bluetooth), we'll only be able to record your side of the conversation.

MacOS:

Enable Screen Recording permissions to use headphones. Although we do not capture anything on your screen, this allows Limitless to capture everything that comes out of your speakers or headphones. Please note that you will not see a drop-down to choose your microphone. We will automatically use the input/output that your Mac is set to.

macOS Sequoia 15.3: If you are having issues capturing audio, click on Mic icon in the top right corner of your Mac menu bar, and toggle the mic on and off for Limitless.

Why is sound quality reduced when I'm capturing audio while using Bluetooth headphones?

Unfortunately, when using Bluetooth, you'll likely encounter a 'fuzzy sound' because the system adjusts audio quality for voice isolation. This happens because Bluetooth has two modes. The first mode is for listening to higher-quality audio. The second mode is for both speaking through the microphone and listening to audio. When Bluetooth switches to the second mode, audio quality is reduced until the microphone is no longer in use. You can learn more here.

To capture audio with normal sound quality, change to system mic or wired headphones.
