What is the Pendant
The Pendant is an AI-powered, wearable microphone that helps its owner remember conversations without the need to take notes.
For example, a user may wear the Pendant to:
Remember quick requests and errands that come up in passing;
Summarize lectures, conferences, or meetings;
Record ideas and reflections; or
Capture memorable moments with their family or friends to revisit later.
When Recording Happens
When the Pendant is recording, a white LED light on the device is on to let people around the wearer know the Pendant is on and recording audio. Pendant wearers are required under our Terms of Service to notify and obtain consent from individuals before recording conversations with them. If you’re unsure whether the Pendant is recording, you can always ask the wearer to turn it off if you prefer not to be recorded.
What May Be Collected
If you’re talking with someone wearing the Pendant—or you’re nearby while they are recording—the Pendant may capture your voice as part of an audio recording, a transcript of what was said, and a short summary created from that transcript.
In some cases, the Limitless app may help the Pendant user recognize speakers across recordings so that they can follow who said what in their notes.
How the Information is Used
Limitless does not post audio recordings publicly. The audio recordings and notes belong to the user who made them—the users control whether to keep or delete the recordings and whether to share them with others.
Limitless may use the information collected to improve and enhance our services, including to train and improve AI and other large language models provided by third parties, including our affiliates. Limitless may also disclose this information with vendors and service providers who help deliver our services—for example, third-party AI providers who help transcribe and summarize the audio recordings.
How Long the Information is Kept
The retention of audio recordings and transcripts primarily depends on the choices of the user who made the recording. Many users keep important conversations until they no longer need them, and they can delete any recording at any time in the app. Limitless may retain this information as needed for the purposes specified in our Privacy Policy.
