Mac app
If you’ve downloaded the Mac app, you can use headphones! Ensure that you’ve granted Screen Recording (in macOS Ventura 13) / Screen Recording & System Audio (in macOS Sonoma 14) permissions in order to record the audio.
Please note that you will not see a drop-down to choose your microphone. We will automatically use the input/output that your Mac is set to.
Web or Windows app
If you’re using the web app (via app.limitless.ai) or Windows app, it's best to use your device's built-in microphone. We currently do not support headphones in the web or Windows app.
You can experiment with using your default microphone, as long as it can capture the sound from your speakers. For instance, if you have a USB microphone and external speakers, it can work if the sound from your external speakers is close enough for the USB microphone to pick up. If you're wearing headphones (wired or bluetooth), we'll only be able to record your side of the conversation.
