Interacting with the Pendant (Search, Ask AI, Summaries)

Please note the Pendant app is currently only available for those that have received the Pendant. We are shipping Pendants based on this shipping timeline.



How do recordings/transcripts sync from the Pendant to the iOS app?

Pendant recordings sync to the iOS when you open the iOS app. Once it's been synced there, THEN it will sync to the Limitless web/Mac/Windows app.

Can I see my Pendant recordings on the Limitless desktop (web/Mac/Windows) app?

Yes! On the Limitless desktop app, click on Lifelog in the left panel.

You can think of the Pendant iOS app and the Limitless web/Mac/Windows app as two separate apps, but we do plan to have more feature parity in the future. Check out our Limitless feature request board and our roadmap.

How do I see the transcript?

Tap on the arrow/carrot on the left of each summary header.

How do I edit the transcript or speaker?

This is currently only available in the mobile app

  • Tap and hold on any text for 2 seconds (on the header, summary, or transcript)

  • The ability to edit will appear.

  • Tap "done" after making any necessary adjustments.

When editing a speaker (if the speaker was incorrectly labeled), you will be prompted to 'replace all speakers' or just for the specific line.

How do I search?

This is currently only available in the mobile app

From the Lifelog view:

  • Tap the magnify glass icon in the top right corner

  • Start typing in the Search box

  • Tap "Search" from the keyboard

The search feature works without AI and finds results based on your keywords. Using quotes helps you find exact matches.

How do I Ask AI?

Asking AI is only available for Pendant Lifelogs not web/desktop meetings.

Asking AI in the Mobile App

  • From the Limitless iOS app, tap on "Ask" on the bottom panel

  • Tap into the bottom section where it says "Ask about anything you've said or heard"

  • Once your keyboard pops up, start typing and then press the arrow icon in the bottom right

Asking AI on Web/MacOS/Windows

  • Open the Ask Limitless AI tab on the left. This will only appear if you have Pendant recordings on the same account.

Managing daily notifications / create your own

  • Tap on Settings in the bottom right > Notifications

  • Scroll down to the Daily Notifications section

  • Toggle on/off the notifications as you wish

  • To create your own daily notification:

    • First, ask a question in Ask AI

    • At the bottom of the answer, tap on "Ask daily" (bottom right)

How do I view my Ask AI history / past chats?

This feature is only available on web/desktop.

  • From the Limitless iOS app, tap on "Ask" on the bottom panel

  • Tap on the three lines (☰) in the top left to see your Ask AI history

  • To get out of this view, tap anywhere to the right of the history 'panel'

How do I export or copy summaries and transcripts?

Exporting in the Mobile App

To export the summary and/or transcript for the entire day:

  • In the Lifelog view, select one or more sections by tapping the checkboxes next to them

  • Tap on 'Select All' in the top left corner

  • At the bottom of the app, you'll now see a copy icon (it's next to 'Star')

  • Check/uncheck summaries or transcripts (for example, you can uncheck summaries to only export transcripts)

  • Tap on one of the three formats and it'll be copied to your phone's clipboard

To export the summary and/or transcript of a section (or a few sections):

  • In the Lifelog view, select one or more sections by tapping the checkboxes next to them

  • At the bottom of the app, you'll now see the option to Copy

  • Check/uncheck summaries or transcripts (for example, you can uncheck summaries to only export transcripts)

  • Tap on one of the three formats and it'll be copied to your phone's clipboard

Playing Audio

  • In the Lifelog view, select one or more sections by tapping the checkboxes next to them

  • Press 'Play' to play audio starting from the first Lifelog section you selected

Saving / Exporting Audio from the Mobile App

  • In the Lifelog view, select one or more sections by tapping the checkboxes next to them

  • Tap the three dots (⋯) in the bottom right corner > Download audio

    Note: The audio file will be sent to the destination you choose in the share sheet. If you'd like to save it to your Files app, select Files as the destination. Exporting smaller sections works reliably and we're working on a way to export more sections in the future.

Copying on Web/MacOS/Windows

From the Lifelog tab (on the left side) click "Copy Markdown" on the section you want to copy. We don't currently support copying multiple sections at once on Web/MacOS/Windows.

Share/Unshare Transcripts & Chats

Sharing and unsharing is currently only available on mobile.

Share Pendant Conversations

Be sure to only share the link with those you want to have access to the selected content.

  • From the Limitless iOS app, select the transcripts you want to share

  • Tap “Share” at the bottom of the app.

Note: we do not support sharing audio at this time.

Share Ask AI Chats

  • At the bottom of the Ask AI answer, click on the 'share' icon

  • Tap on "Share"

Unsharing

In the mobile app unsharing options are located under Settings > Privacy.

How do I delete a Pendant conversation / lifelog?

This is currently only available in the mobile app.

Please note that deleting is not reversible. To delete a Lifelog:

  • Select the lifelog

  • Tap the three dots (⋯) in the bottom right corner

  • Select "Delete"

What happens if my pendant isn't near my phone?

If your pendant is not near your phone or if you have bluetooth off on your phone then the pendant will store the audio locally in memory. The pendant can store 35 hours of continuous speech. To give you even more storage, the pendant only stores audio if a voice is detected. If there is no voice detected then the audio isn't stored. So that means, for example, if only 50% of the audio you record with the pendant has speech in it you can effectively record for 70 hours before running out of space. Read here for more info.

How do I update the firmware?

This is currently only available in the mobile app

If prompted, tap on "Update firmware." Keep your phone awake and the Pendant nearby. Note: Updating the firmware will turn off your Pendant, so be sure to turn it back on once the update is complete.

Although it is not urgent, the update takes less than 5 minutes and ensures the best experience with your Pendant.

How do I see how much transcription minutes I've used?

  • The number includes minutes recorded from the Limitless desktop app.

Checking transcription minutes in the mobile app

  • Tap the three dots (⋯) in the top right corner

  • Select Settings

  • Scroll down to Usage to see how many minutes you've used and have left.

Checking transcription minutes on Web/MacOS/Windows

  • Open Account > Settings
