Thank you to our user Ben N. for sharing your detailed notes! We are updating our Pendant app daily so there may be changes since Feb 11, 2024.
Wearing and interacting with the pendant:
Pendant control (turning on/off transcribing) is easy and simple. (Hold side button for 2 seconds)
I generally wear turtlenecks, so I’ve been using the provided necklace rather than clasping it to my collar.
Although not a necklace person, I have already grown accustomed to wearing it, but I may shorten the length of the necklace at some point.
I haven’t had a chance to wear my suit jacket since receiving the pendant, but I tried it on with the pendant on the lapel and I am pleased with its appearance and the strength of the magnet (doesn’t feel too heavy or likely to fall off).
iOS App experience:
The iOS app is nicely designed, simple, and easy to use
Transcripts are synced promptly and the title summaries are generally accurate/representative of the transcripts
A non-obvious feature I discovered is the ability to long-press on summary titles, or individual transcript lines to edit misspelling (my last name for example) or assign speaker names manually
The device settings section is very well done, indicating listening status, battery percentage, time until fully charged (when plugged into charger), firmware version, cellular data control, a section to modify the pendant’s indicator light brightness, and the ability to unpair the pendant
Another non-obvious feature is the ability to rename your pendant with a custom name at the top of the device settings (this has changed a few times already with the app updates)
Copying transcripts:
Currently, you can copy transcripts a few different ways: (I believe this has been demonstrated in videos/screenshots already by Dan)
Select specific (individual or multiple) transcript entries from the lifelog
Select specific (individual or multiple) transcript lines from entries from the lifelog
Select all transcript entries for a particular day by jumping to a date and then “Select all”
Copy feature offers different formats (LLM, HTML, Markdown)
Searching transcripts:
Currently, you can search for key words in the transcripts by jumping to a specific date, and then using the magnifying icon.
Using Limitless’s “Ask AI”:
Select entry/transcript line(s) and then press Ask AI, or jump to date, and then Ask AI to interact with an entire day’s transcript entries
Account settings: (This has changed a few times since I’ve had the pendant)
Shows your account name/email
Notification settings (currently only “Charging Complete” and “Low Battery” (<20%))

Battery Life & Charging:
The battery life has been remarkably good in my experience. With transcribing turned on all day, I certainly have enough battery to last a full day. With transcribing turned off, it appears to drain very little of the battery, so I cannot attest to exactly how long that would take, but multiple days at least.
The charging time estimate appears to be slightly longer than the actual charging duration (though I haven’t timed it precisely).
My personal most useful/valuable real world applications:
Remembering small details/to-dos: Although I generally have a very good memory, having the ability to ask about what I needed/wanted to remember for the day at the end of each day has helped me keep track of all the little things that I wanted to remember. I am sure this would be especially useful for anyone who doesn’t have the best memory, or is simply exposed to so much information each day that they couldn’t possibly remember all of the important things.
I do this by using Ask AI in the Limitless app at the end of each day something like “What did I want to remember today?” Or some variation. (Hoping to be able to automate this each day in future app updates)
“Thinking out loud”: or riffing in a completely unstructured way, and then using ChatGPT or your LLM of choice to organize thoughts and ideas and potentially gain insights.
I wish I could share details from specific examples, because of how insightful it was to me, but due to the personal nature of the topics, I will do my best to outline the gist of it:
I spoke my thoughts out loud about a personal relationship, trying to explore my understanding of what was going on and what to do about it. I reasoned through some things and did my best to explain what I thought the nature of the problem was. Then, I copied the transcript into GPT-o3-mini-high and asked it this prompt: “What do you think of these ideas? Does the speaker have any validity in these thoughts? Where do you think their argument is the strongest? The weakest?” And ChatGPT was able to identify known phenomena that I had not heard of before, as well as explain why my views may have had validity, and where they might be missing things. It was a very remarkable moment.
Scheduling/Important information for someone else:
Another extremely beneficial use case for me has been regarding my care for someone else. Unfortunately, I believe this is also a bit too personal to share in detail, but the gist again:
Over the past year, someone close to me has experienced some major health issues, resulting in me more or less becoming their primary caregiver. Some of the difficult things to keep track of were all of the appointments and important health information that was shared with me (many times when I was not able to seamlessly document it in my phone or calendar, etc.). Since receiving the pendant, I have been able to document the important information (with consent) and not lose track of critical details. I would have benefited indescribably from having this ability over the past year, and greatly appreciate having it now. Additionally, since I am not always able to be present when the person is being told about important dates or appointments, or health updates, I often miss these critical details, and the nature of their health condition results in them not remembering virtually any details of their interactions with doctors and healthcare providers. So (again with their permission) I would love to give them a pendant to keep with them when I am not around, so that in the event that important information was shared, I can simply check their lifelog and never miss these things again.
